04/01/2007 : Talkin' Turkey
You've done your homework; the scouting is done and opening day finally arrives. You know where a big tom is roosted; you put him to bed last night. Daybreak finds you settled against, a big oak 100 yards from his roost tree. True to form, he sends a gobble echoing through the woods at the first call of a barred owl. A couple of your soft tree yelps triggers an immediate response. He sails down from his roost and starts strutting his way toward your location. Suddenly...BOOM! Another hunter shoots the gobbler. You slap your hat against your leg in disgust, gather your gear and march back to the truck, muttering to yourself. This scenario might have had a happier ending if the gobbler had been roosted on land to which the other hunter didn't have access...your own land. This newsletter is the first of what will be quarterly publications sent to you from the Mossy Oak Properties office in Shreveport to get you thinking about the possibilty of investing in your own hunting property. We'll not only inform you about current trends in rural real estate but will also provide tips, information, and concepts about wildlife and recreation in the four-state region served by the Shreveport office. Whether your interest is in hunting turkeys, deer, waterfowl, or small game, or perhaps you would just like to have the freedom and peace that comes with owning your own little piece of rural heaven, Mossy Oak Properties can help. We have properties, ranging from small plots to large acreage listed for sale and more are being added regularly. Other amenities we offer include consulting services for the property you purchase or that you already own. We can help you improve your property and we can educate you about cost-share land improvement programs available to you. The possibilities are endless. Call the number at the bottom of this page or log onto the website and browse a bit to see how Mossy Oak Properties can help you.
